Since opening the doors to salon-quality nails at home in 2019, we have always strived to be uncompromisingly transparent in our communication, so our customers can purchase Nailster products with peace of mind and feel well-informed about product safety.
To reduce the risks associated with using “home kits,” we place strong emphasis on clearly communicating the potential for allergic reactions to uncured products across all aspects of our communication, guides, and marketing.
That is why we at Nailster have gathered a selection of all the initiatives we implement daily to inform and protect our customers – so they can feel safe on their nail journey.
We include information about allergies in all our orders at the bottom of the packing slip.
We clearly emphasize that the product must not come into contact with the skin – this information is provided on packaging, guides, packing slips, and through QR codes linking to our guide universe.
We provide information about ingredients and correct product usage on each individual product page on our website.
We inform customers about the correct use of our products in our Learning Universe, which has been developed in collaboration with certified nail technicians and is continuously updated.
Our ingredients are always listed on every product page, so you know exactly what you're applying to your nails. We strive to use the gentlest acrylates available on the market without compromising on quality.
We’re glad that people continue to pay attention to the use of our products, as it allows us to communicate openly about their contents.
We know that allergic reactions can occur with personal use of gel products, but by using our Learning Universe, you are guided toward safe and secure product application.
Selective use of acrylates
The three acrylates identified by the Asthma and Allergy Association as the most allergenic – MMA, HEMA, and DIHEMA – are not found in any of our products. This is a deliberate choice to reduce the likelihood of allergic reactions. We always prioritize our customers’ safety – from production to product use.
At Nailster, we take our responsibility seriously – both toward our customers and within the industry we are a part of. That is why we have entered into a close and trusted collaboration with Bureau Veritas, one of the world’s leading companies in the inspection, classification, consultancy, and certification of chemical products and processes.
Together with Bureau Veritas, we ensure that our products comply with all applicable legal requirements and safety standards. Bureau Veritas provides ongoing guidance on regulatory requirements, assessment of documentation, and proper labeling. They also assist with expert evaluations of the ingredients used in our products.
Nailster’s products and ingredients are registered and monitored by Bureau Veritas in accordance with EU legislation, including the Cosmetics Regulation. This ensures full traceability and transparency, allowing our customers to feel confident in the products they use.
We are continuously working to strengthen our control and documentation processes and are committed to expanding the collaboration to include specific testing procedures in the future.
The close partnership with Bureau Veritas is a key part of our promise to deliver high-quality gel products with a focus on safety, transparency, and regulatory compliance. For us, it’s not just about beautiful nails – it’s about offering beauty with care and responsibility.
In recent years, the EU has tightened legislation on acrylates in cosmetic products for home use—an adjustment we fully support and gladly comply with to ensure our products can be used safely by everyone. The EU continually assesses risks and has chosen to restrict only certain acrylates (such as HEMA). The acrylates we use are fully legal and assessed as safe when used correctly.
As of September 1, 2025, 20 new substances will be added to the list of banned ingredients. One of these substances is TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide), which has been used by some nail brands.
At Nailster, we only sell products intended for private consumers. That’s why we began phasing out TPO from all our products back in 2022, and today we are already completely free from TPO, so you can safely continue using our products.
At Nailster, like others in the industry, we encourage consumers to choose products manufactured and sold within the EU, where the regulation and control of ingredients—including acrylates—are thorough and designed to protect consumers. At the same time, we are concerned that highly allergenic products remain easily accessible through international platforms, where EU regulations regarding ingredients and labeling are not necessarily followed.
We therefore support stricter measures to prevent the sale of such products to EU countries, as they hinder real progress in reducing the number of allergy cases.

Cured with care – for both durability and skin safety
A proper curing process is essential to prevent small uncured molecules from remaining in the product. We design both our gel products and UV lamps to work optimally together. This ensures complete curing and reduces the risk of allergies.
